An Angel Takes Flight Part II: Michael Jackson 1958 - 2009 (Original Post - June 28, 2009)
Well, it's Monday. The manuscript still isn't done. (I'm pulling out my hair over this!) I've been on YouTube watching videos and downloading songs from Amazon that I didn't even know Michael Jackson even made.
Some fan I am.
Anyhow, to address a few of the emails that I continue to receive regarding Mr. Jackson:
From Misty of Arizona, USA
I've suspicions about the circumstances surrounding the tragedy of [MJ]. Can your angels shed some light on this?
From Tink of Michigan, USAA. Firstly, they're not solely my angels. I have to share them with everyone in the world, darn it all. Secondly, I'm not an investigative psychic nor a fortuneteller, so I'm afraid I have no information for you regarding that. I guess I'll find out the details as they're made public just like everyone else. Just a word of caution, however, be careful of jumping on the first tidbits of information that flow through the media channels, especially the stuff that comes from gossip rags. The last thing we want to do is spread gossip. We see the results of it today--the world is now bereft of one of the greatest entertainers in history.
You're a die-hard [MJ] fan? I thought you rolled with the Goth crowd, Miss Pearls & Dr. Martens!
A. Hi, Tink. My music tastes are very eclectic. Michael Jackson was the soundtrack of my youth from birth and well past my teen years when I became a metal head and started spinning Metallica. I appreciate many forms of music; Michael Jackson AND Marilyn Manson are on my playlists, along with Jim Morrison, Led Zepplin, the Monkees and Steve Roach. It all depends on my mood, though I will admit, I just discovered MJ's "Is it Scary" today. It's dark and old-school pop. It's the best of both worlds for an 80s baby like me! So, don't worry, I'm not trading in my Docs for glitter socks.
From Louise of Kentucky, USA
I feel so close to [Archangel] Michael. He reflects in much of my life. When I heard [MJ] died, I remembered that he was listed as a notable person under the "sunny" angel in your book. But in hindsight, I think [MJ] fits more under [Archangel] Sandalphon.
A. Louise, I can see why you would think that, with Sandalphon being very much the Peter Pan of the heavens, but I don't place people solely under archangels with whom they may share similar traits. It's more about who has that angel as their parent angel. In my upcoming book, I'll talk more about parent angels, but for now, suffice it to say that a parent angel is a lot like what many of you consider as guardian angels--angels that were appointed to you at the time of birth. Michael Jackson was endowed with a lot of Archangel Michael energy; there are no ifs, ands or buts about it. The angel is highly magnetic and larger than life, and many entertainers usually have him as a parent angel.
From Kathy of Quebec, CAN
A lot of people are saying MJ is an angel now. Can humans become angels?
A. Sadly, Kathy, no. Humans cannot become angels, but humans can become spirit guides. To that end, MJ will most likely have his hands full and will be busy with spirit guide training. But that's simply speculation on my part. There are many things for us to do when we cross over. Then again, MJ could just decide to come back to this reality. I haven't inquired about him regarding that. Moreover, I don't like to pry like that...often. Honestly, I just wish him peace and happiness, whether he's running around an amusement park with Archangel Sandalphon, exploring Archangel Cassiel's spooky mansion, or hanging out with Archangel Michael to learn new dance moves ('cause that's who created them).
From Mark of Vancouver, CAN
In your book [Azrael Loves Chocolate], you talk about fate and that everything is scripted in life. Why would Michael Jackson script success and yet so much tragedy for himself?
A. Excellent question, Mark! Life scripts are all about balance. The angels are very adamant about that when they sit and help us plan out our life journey. We all have to experience the pleasant and not-so-pleasant. It's this dynamic that adds depth, and meaning, to life.
A very long time ago, when I had rediscovered Michael Jackson during the darkest time of my life, I asked Archangel Michael why MJ chose the hellish circumstances that surrounded him in recent years.
The angel gave a lopsided grin and shrugged, "Me and Gabriel tried warning him. We told him that it was going to be glorious and tragic in equal proportions. But [MJ] insisted he could handle it, no matter what. He has always been vibrant and daring, and trust us, this is not the most harrowing adventure he's had. But, it's a very different one. Like everyone else, he'll pull through."To remind you, Mark, and all my readers: If God didn't think MJ could handle his life script, we wouldn't be having this Q&A because MJ would have never existed. And so it is for all of us. We're only here because God trusts us with the scripts that we've co-authored with Him.
On that note, it's because of all the controversies that surrounded Michael Jackson that I struggled with listing him in Azrael Loves Chocolate, Michael's a Jock. Simply said, I knew what his name was constantly synonymous with, "scandal", and I wasn't sure if that would turn readers off and distract from the overall messages I was trying to convey about the angels. The realm of Spirit doesn't work within terms of good and bad, only in terms of purpose. In that, there's no right or wrong, just what is--just what puts into motion the causes needed to bring about the effects of God's Great Equation.
Still, I feared drowning out that message as readers blinked twice upon seeing Michael Jackson's name listed in a book about angels. There are no words to describe the enormous struggle it caused me as a lifelong admirer. My poor friend Jeremy had to listen to me debate about this for months, to which he would simply ask, "What are the angels saying about this?"
And like the hypocrite that I am, I didn't want to consult the angels. After all, what did they know about human nature and how MJ's name would be received? I mean, they're only God's chosen messengers sent to direct and interact with humanity.
Well, without seeking their input--and at the last minute--Archangel Michael stepped in as my fingers trembled over the delete key on the final manuscript.
"[MJ] belongs to me. He stays [in the book]." It was the firmest the archangel had ever been with me, as compared to his usual jovial demeanor.
"[MJ] belongs to me. He stays [in the book]." It was the firmest the archangel had ever been with me, as compared to his usual jovial demeanor.
"Okay, chief." I shrugged and acquiesced to the angel's request. Hence, MJ is listed, not because he's an angel, not because he's a saint, but because he's a child of God, as we all are. (Well, that and because Archangel Michael said to list him. Never ever argue with an archangel; you will lose.)
That was the one time my loyalty as a fan faltered. I felt guilty for a while, but I'm relieved Archangel Michael stayed my hand from deleting MJ like Archangel Zadkiel stayed the hand of Abraham from sacrificing Isaac. At the end of the day, MJ deserved to be listed in my book right along with other great and influential notables such as Jim Morrison and Johnny Cash just to name a few.
I hope this answers some of your questions. Now we fans should simply begin the healing process and do what I think MJ would want us to do: come together in solidarity, dance, and celebrate the beautiful God-given gift of life.
Follow Archangels Michael and Sandalphon's example, put on some disco and boogie your tails off!
My heart goes out to the Jackson family and to all of the millions of MJ fans around the world.
